Airgunning Again

My first thought was to add a spacer between the stock and the Morgan adjustable butt pad. Then I had a thought, I like to rest the back of the stock and the butt pad against my thigh when I shoot sitting, so why not make my own butt pad with the extension and put a small swell in the thigh side of it so that it would give me a little more standoff from my leg. I had made a thigh rest a while back and the new extention could replace it and give me another inch of reach.
So that is what I did. I took apart the Morgan butt pad and installed an 1.5" extension of wood. I formed the extension to match the aluminum part of the original butt pad but with a thigh swell. Then I made a simple aluminum butt hook that I screwed to the rear of the extention. I painted everything up and installed it and it works great!
A big advantage with this setup is now if I change the butt pad position for an uphill or downhill shot, the thigh rest and sit in the same position on my thigh and give me the shooting position for every shot. Hopefully if things go well I will be able to try it this weekend at the NMAC club championship.
