New Target Stock

I haven’t been spending much time on the internet recently. My email is pretty backed up because of it. I have been working on a new target stock for my TX200. I have a really nice shooting 12 ft. lbs. MkI TX that I bought a few years back and I have been wanting to make a custom stock for it. The project started earlier this year when I contacted Mike Abernathy at Customwerks and asked him to take a pattern I had developed on my computer and rough cut a laminated blank and in-let it for me. Mike got a really nice Nutmeg (Dark Brown/Light Brown) blank from Boyds Gunstock Industries and cut it up for me. I received it a few weeks later and proceeded to let it set in my garage for a few months.

Once I got caught up on some other projects I started work on the blank. Using a combination of sanders, Roto tools and hand scrapers I came out with the stock pictured. I am going to send it back to Mike and let him make a copy of it to sell and see if he can make a copy of it for my HW97. I am really happy with the way it has turned out and I am looking forward to getting it back from Mike to finish and shoot with it.
